Re: Meditations
Black holes aren't "infinitely dense", they just have a significant gravitational effect on light. They don't even have to be particularly massive, and it's quite possible that some astronomical object could orbit a black hole like we orbit the sun. The way I understand it so far, is that...

Re: Meditations
I think the big problem with theories on how to survive direct contact with a black hole is that we don't know that much about them yet. It's difficult to be right or wrong with conjecture as long as it operates within the boundaries we've observed. Another reason, of course, was for debate purposes...

Re: Meditations
I think what World is attempting to articulate is that it is best not to live with preconceptions . He is saying that preconceptions can dangerously alter how you perceive new information, distorting it like a bad lens. Which, is true, if that's what he's trying to get across. If that be the case, I...

Re: Meditations
I'd like to hear some examples of how a freed mind such as yours functions compared to other minds. Perhaps things you notice that no one else does, or something that stirs emotions in you that no one else reacts to. Just something to help me understand the metaphor better.

Re: rant board
He said I would have hearing problems. See,my parents would be paranoid about some stuff, but ignore other stuff about me(and my brother). Sounds to me like their might be more to it than that. I could propose explanations until the cows came home. Maybe it's a control issue, and he wants to know wh...

Re: Books!
I brought up a subject in the discussion on the question "That Insane People are more Free then Sane People". They Escape the Horrors of the World by Creating there Own. Doctors are Paid to bring them from that Safe Environment into our Unsafe Environment. My teacher said "Yes, becau...
