It's like how that guy predicted the Rapture. Nostradamus and the Mayans are just trolling us, even though it seems like the world's about to collapse anyday now, with that "fiscal cliff" looming over us.

Common sense isn't common.

Common sense IS common,no one is taking it seriously, because if they do,why would the people who believe be on the newspapers, television, etc.?

It's not common enough - If we didn't believe in this, why do we come across it nearly everyday? It's too common an occurance, it seems. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but it feels that way.

It's because humans would much rather follow their emotions and their pleasure than facts. This extends to all aspects of life, but especially things like this, where people get...I don't even know what. Maybe it has to do with the overindulging before the end or something.

This pretty much explains 80% of the world's problems. The other 20% being caused by people who follow only logic rather than emotions.

If you are referring to me, its much more than that which sickens me about humanity.

I wasn't personally referring to him, but I was using his post as a sort of springboard to discuss that idea. I don't think it's reasonable to say that humanity is bad on average.

Also, the *prophecy* is not Mayan. It's Aztec. And actually, the Aztecs got it from the Toltecs.
TT: I guess one could use those words to describe it.

Man, so this is all because Toltecs were trendy by Aztec standards? Them being the first to do archaeology is all fine and dandy, but still.
