About Mur, I'm not really too sure of what he was thinking. He DID state that our "adventure" was over back in Sub6, but we don't know the real meaning behind those words of his - if he was really leaving us to die without regrets about that, OR if that was just a sarcastic and melancholic statement upon the impossibility of rescuing The Player from inside the deactivated Defense Systems.
Either way, to me it seems that Mur would eventually come to truly regret letting so many people die at the Edge and the Defense Systems of the Core. Perhaps he always did, in case he simply knew he couldn't do anything for us, or he came to that conclusion later, in the cold-blooded case.
That's my two cents. No matter what his true intentions and feelings were, he regretted everything at some point.
