Sometimes I remember dreams vividly, sometimes I don't.
The dream seems to be about 3 approaches to life: harmony, amassing wealth (thus power indirectly), and amassing power by any means. The animal people loose their own home presumebly as the barbarians come to power (the grey clouds being the same color as their bunker). However, they seem to reestablish themselves in their own large grey bunker which hides a secret. This bunker may relate to the rich white home as it has a similar 45 degree roof, but I'm not sure. Finally, I'm not sure what to make of the mall like place. The rest of the dream is like the ruins of our civilization (except for the nature people, who just seem to be happily living in a simple village), but the mall looked brand new, as if somehow the nature people had either found an untouched location from our civilization or had rebuilt one as a distraction to the barbarians... which still doesn't make sense, so never mind, this is not as easy to interpret as I thought. XD

I had another strange dream last night. I am wondering what it means still. It was strangely vivid for me, I don't usually remember this level of detail, but I wrote it down very quickly after waking up.
It starts in my city in the late afternoon.(I say my city, I mean the city closest to where I live. I don't actually live in the city itself.) It's raining like fuck because it's always raining like fuck in my city. Suddenly, there are the massive objects in the sky, flying over slowly. A horn is playing for some reason. The earth starts to vibrate and buildings are collapsing. A man runs up to me. In the dream I recognize him but I can't remember who he is now. He says something about a way out, and mentions the word 'centurion' (centurion seems to be an arc word in my dreams, it's appeared several times in the last few weeks) Suddenly I am in a convoy evacuating, but the city has changed. It is now very sunny, and the city is a lot bigger. The road we are on is leading through a hilly rural area. For some reason we are on a news truck. (by we I mean me and the man I recognized, plus some other people I know) The convoy reaches a police roadblock, and the police tell us that no one can leave the city. The man I recognized tells them that they have been abandoned, and if the don't run, they'll die too. The police draw their guns (This must have been America or some place similar, because the police don't have guns here) but a titanic explosion from the city distracts us. A bright light slowly falls out from the explosion, engulfing my entire field of vision. When the light hits the other people in my dream, they transform into crow like beasts, and fly away laughing like children (as in, they are opening their mouths/beaks to laugh, but the sound of children laughing is coming out). The light clears, and I am in a desert. Alone. In front of me is a ruined tower block. It is cylindrical, like a giant can of beans. There is nothing else around me except flat yellow ground and an open blue sky. A sense of despair begins to creep in to me, I don't know why. Suddenly I am talking to a small child. I think it was a young boy, although he didn't seem like that. I don't remember what we said, but I do remember nodding to him, then all is silent as the conversation has ended. The tower then falls. A shower of glass shards fall from the windows, and as I am about to be crushed by the tower, a piece of glass hits me in the face. I then wake up, very sweaty. Although, I always sweat in my sleep for some reason. It was one of the strangest dreams I've ever had.

Oh my LORD that is epic. I'm going to have to think about that one... Do you have any impressions of what the different symbols mean to you? What do you associate crows with for instance?

If you've been watching Doctor Who, "Centurion" doesn't seem that odd to be dreaming of

Because there was that dude who was a plastic centurion? XD
The problem is I'm not really into Dr who...
Also dreaming about children is probably a bad sign.

The horn seems to be a kind of announcement or warning, right? Or was it joyful or musical in nature?
Centurion is interesting. It is an ancient solder or guard... are you into history at all?
At a newbie guess, I'd say this has something to do with escaping from something you feel is impeding but unpersonal... alien if you will. The interesting thing is that you seem to be telling yourself that you can't ultimately escape from it, yet the doom itself will help you escape in some ways. The cops having guns don't necessarily mean it is in America, just that you perceive very dangerous barriers to your escape, and yet those barriers are effected by the doom in a way that you are not. The laughing crow kids are creepy and may simply be a creepy image, or it could be that there is a reason the sound of children laughing is combined with the crows. I did a little searching, and while crows are often a bad symbol, it may actually be a sign of positive change, especially with the laughing children. Yet isn't change scary too?
So, you escape the pending doom, a change occurs, yet your mind tells you that the change will be a barren waste land. (This can be a mental change and the outcome your mind expects, or something in your life.) The child there? Children actually can symbolize a new start, and your seem to be agreeing with this. But then the tower falls; the high strong place falls on you as if yet again your telling yourself that the change will end in disaster.
Or it could be about something totally different. XD My thought is that the thing to learn is that you have some fears of being trapped, but your also afraid of the freedom, thinking something awful will happen. So, your job seems to be to either learn to deal with the place you feel trapped, or else learn what you need to deal well with where ever you escape to.
Dream interpretation is interesting and tricky, because symbols can be very personal. If you consult a dream dictionary, you have to make sure that the interpretation of a symbol sounds correct to YOU. What the symbol seems to be about to you is paramount, not what some dude decides. There are also a lot of quack interpretations. The web site Dreamtation.com seems to have a pretty good symbol dictionary. I think of dreams as the mind trying to figure out things. Our minds are built on symbols. From the moment we are children we begin making associations between color, sight, sound, etc, and these associations become symbols which somehow a part of our mind can comb through to create dreams as a kind of self critique system, perhaps even to see how we (oru conscious mind) react to the combination in order that that part of our mind can create more complete or efficient associations. We can use them to learn things about ourselves that we may not realize or may be hiding from ourselves.

Woah, I have never thought this much about my dreams before, but now it's starting to make more sense. As a person I've always feared being tied down, but I've never been good at adjusting to changes. I had a lot of changes in my family life this year so...
Anyway, enough about me, I was wondering about your dream you mentioned earlier, you mention camera work. Was your dream in kinda third person then? Or were you in your body, but something made you look at things? Because all my dreams are in first person I think, so I've never experienced that.

I caught a brief glimpse into my dreams:
I was in a cafe or diner, when I suddenly realized I was dreaming. My logic was really screwed, and I was aware of it.
I remember laughing and feeling really happy for no reason.
(I did notice, most of my dreams seem pretty "lonely",ie. either I'm the only person in my dream,or there are one or2 people, but that's it(maybe a hint at my introvertism?))

Yeah, my dreams are usually totally random and the perspective changes often. Sometimes, it is like I'm watching a movie, sometimes I'm literally watching a movie or game, and then suddenly I'm inside the movie as a disembodied observer, then suddenly I'm a character. I sometimes even become different characters in the same dream, like being both the mouse pilot and later the guy pretending to be a statue, yet I am just as likely to be watching these characters as myself or as a disembodied presence. And of course, as a disembodied observer, the views are often like camera work.
Somebody mentioned dreaming in color or not before. I always dream in color, I hear sounds only part of the time, and I feel pain occasionally. I actually had one dream where I ate a piece of chocolate cake a few days old and could taste both the chocolate flavor and how it was getting dry and hard. (It was a post-apocalyptic dream where almost everyone just disappeared and I was looking for food and found the cake in a bakery). That is the only time I can remember tasting something though.
Swimming is one of the most interesting phenomenons because I will either think I'm drowning though I can breath, or I will suddenly discover I could breath underwater all along and am shocked I never did before.
Edit: @Kakama: boy, I'm thinking this thread is really awakening a lot of dream sensitivity in everyone. It sure has for me. I'm alone at times in dreams, but there is always eventually at least a few people.
Another interesting tidbit I just remembered: My dad died 20 years ago, and sense then I've had about 7 dreams where it turns out he didn't actually die and he's just been out of town for a really long time. The last one I had was a little heart breaking because I was so excited to have him back in my life.

Dreams are really prank-like that way.
I once had a dream where my room had a ton of lego, and I could build whatever I like, and when I wake up,I think,"where did all that lego go?!"
