Huh, interesting only Russia celebrated the downfall of Nazi Germany...you'd think the whole world would.
@WorldisQuiet: How is a $250 scholarship bad? Money's money, at least it's something. What did the other kids get that you didn't? You don't need awards to feel proud of yourself.

We celebrate the end of war between Soviets and Germany. This war is called "Великая Отечественная Война".
Actually, German capitulation in May 9 is important day in World history.

Today on this Sunday May 12th is Mothers Day in the United States.
Does anyone in any other country have something similar?
