Oh good. Gil, Cone and Vurn I am in regular contact with. Vortex, I could be, but he never visits our little Skype group anymore. *sheds a tear* It is nice to see that the community has new people coming in, for a while I feared that the community was going to end with the surge of new members that brought us just all these people like Alamos, Mono, Vurn, RedX, YamiX, Cone... And then it sort of stopped and we began to dwindle.

Well, forum didn't die.
But... Its life, its direction of activity changed absolutely.
Generation of old and current members are absolutely different.

I would not say that's bad... It is like different world, with different customs and policy.

Also, I remember when I joined the Forum, it was after Covert Front 4 came out, and I was already watching you guys post. And no one pointed out the bird was missing.

Is there faster way to know the gist of the history (aka the "gistory") of Pastel Forum before this "current member" generation came? I want to know what it was like.

There is old forum archive. Sublevel's and Vortex's copies.

There was my "Sweet memories..." thread in old forum, where I wanted to see how old members remember their early forum life, posting stories, tales, pictures, etc... :)

I don't think anyone has compiled a succinct list (Sublevel did apparently, XD). I mean, my memory is a bit hazy too and years blend into each other. The real veterans are the ones who were there from the very beginning or at least submachine 2. There was a so called Rewolucje forum where people discussed the submachine back in, what would that even be 2006? That is where Raxas, Robobrain and Anonymous1 originate, and a few others. I think AK is from that era too, but I am not sure.

Then people moved to the new PastelForum, where the meat of it all happened. The Anonymous1 debacle is best left untouched, but the Flame War between the old and the new happened due to the different preferences. It was more lackadaisical and less theory driven. That is a dark page in our history, but that era saw a surge of new members like no other and had a lot of positive things going on too.

Then that forum began to get attacked by spambots, really bad, and we moved into this forum, where things have been ever more happy and lackadaisical. I kind of like it better that way, to be honest.

I have a copy of the old forum (it's corrupted though, some pages don't exist and some you can only access by manual search).

Well I'll be sure to look through it at some point so I can catch up with y'all (only if there's no packet of comprehension questions at the end)
