It was a software bug due to an update on the Rev forum that caused a buttload of spambots. There were spambot troubles well before that, but not as much as then. Mateusz attempted to migrate database to a new service, but errors in the database prevented that. So he just opened up Bbpress, locked down Rev, and kept it open for a while for people to transfer topics and posts over. Also to give a bridge for members to rejoin on Bbpress.

I joined the community around 2007, but mostly posted on his blog, back when he allowed comments, and didn't remove them like he has done now *glares*

It had to have been 2008 when I joined Rev forum, because I remember posting and Death Road welcoming me to the community. And then a few months later, I joined Bbpress. I didn't post that much, really don't recall a lot other than Death Road, and also the development of Sub5 and also SubFLF being released too.

But yeah the wayback machine has a lot of neat information in it. That's cool you found your profile, Soullock.

And yes, Bbpress was opened in 2008. Not sure when, probably August since that is when I created my account.

It was before my time, but there was some sort of a forum storyish Squirrels vs. Cats War thing that was going on the forums not that much before I joined. I never read those threads, since I had other stuff to do... Anyone here who remembers those?

I think there were two and then a third that was kind of lackluster so they stopped, or that is my gut feeling anyway.

This? That was between Marbles and myself. And I stopped producing them because I had a desktop failure happen which caused me to be locked out of about 80% of my online ventures. All the passwords were saved on the computer, never did any backups. I do now though!

Oh no problem, I don't mind sharing pieces of history!

I think YouTube deleted the video due to a copyright problem. It doesn't surprise me, I use audio through the audioswap feature, and sometimes copyright licenses are pulled and videos get deleted. Technically since its YouTube's feature, they should just mute the video and give me notification allowing me to replace the audio, instead of deleting my video and not notifying me, I only found this out through extensive digging.
