It all seems so close to being explicitly about my life, even though I don't have anything even remotely like the events that take place in there. It's very interesting.

I've just recently felt the same thing

Animal Farm. It is some shit.

That was a favorite of mine in Ninth Grade...Granted, we didn't read much in my English class that year, or as far as I remember...Do you like it?

Yeah, I read it a few days ago. It's great. That ending, wow.

I read it like a year ago.
And "1984" too.
And "Coming up for breath".
Awesome books.

Oh yes, Orwell is a very powerful author.

I'm always amazed at the classics you all read. I keep thinking "it must be a Europe thing," but your not all from Europe. So it must be something like a "geniuses attracted by the existential puzzle that is the submachine" thing. XD I've been trying to read Brothers Karamazov, but I only find it interesting in small chunks, then I just get bored and annoyed. You guys always make me feel intellectually inferior with your massive classics reading.

The most interesting thing I've been reading lately is a Japanese novel called 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. Very intriguing. I'm also reading Evil And the Justice of God by N. T. Wright which has some very interesting new ideas. And I just finished the Gate Thief by Orson Scott Card, one of my favorite sci-fi/fantasy writers who always has a philosophical/ethical slant.

Hah, well, I had to read Animal Farm for my Polish classes in school.

And I started reading the Name of the Rose recently. So far is incredibly interesting.

Yeah I read it a few months ago. Very good.
The "Prague Cemetery" wasn't that good.

Planning to read Room or Beatrice and Virgil sometime soon (once I'm finished reading my current book which I just started)
