So I watched Watchmen (hahaha...) and thought it was good, I had far far lower expectations. It was close to the comic in most parts and they luckily gave it enough time to develop and show the characters, instead of making your usual 90min family fun flick.
What I didn't like were the stupid destructive frenzy fight scenes (like in The Matrix, some of them just exist so that people who don't understand the movie can't say it's bad

). They're detached from the movie's statement.

Hear Hear Brother.
Also, the "Tales from the Black Freighter" that was not in the movie, they created a whole other movie for that. Along with a 'fake' TV News report about the vigilante heroes problem.

That's cool, didn't know this exists.
But I'm happy they didn't put it into the movie along with the whole story with the newspaper vendor and the reading black guy, just referenced it shortly. Would probably have disturbed the pacing, and it's just impossible to pull the comic book storytelling off.

I watched Inception and like it infinitely more than Interstellar (comparing because they're both by Nolan and really do bear his hallmarks). I'm impressed how they complicated the simple, purely scifi-oriented base storyline by loading it up with human problems.

I just finish watching Chappie. 5/5 for director Neill Blomkamp for his great storytelling.

Ugh, Watchmen should have never been a movie. There are far too many details left out from the graphic novel that actually contributes to the overall plot and theme. This is why the movie version failed, it was missing its very soul.

YES.

I heard it is not very good... after the disappointment of Elysium, I am not sure if I want to watch it despite another great outing by Sharlto Copley (seriously, how this guy do it if he didn't act all his life???).
And there's a rumor that he would play a Xenomorph in the new ALIEN movie... PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPENS!!!

Last Night I got to enjoy:
Mad Max *Dark Knight Voice* FURY ROAD!
10/10. The Story was good, granted how very little amount the words that were used. But the journey fit the story as well as Max involvement in someone else journey.

Watched Scott Pilgrim vs The World yesterday. It's pure silliness, but extremely vivid and ecstatic, and the integration of comic book + video game design is stunning.
In the original Scott Pilgrim comic books, this black void is a dimension called "Subspace". It's used as a fast travel system and sometimes, it's able to connect minds. Guess what that made me think of.
