Thing is, the motivation threshold for joining is high as it is. First, you must be the kind of person who likes slow puzzle games. Then, you have to stumble on the submachine series, build up enough of a devotion to check the links in the bottom of the window, find the forum and find it desirable to join.
I believe the length and shape of this process is what's singled out the right kind of members to form this community, but the last criteria, finding it desirable to join, is usually dependent on the person having something specific to say. When there was an active discussion on the overall nature of the games, most who found their way here did, but with the death of that mentality, people are only motivated by pure generic interest, which is less compelling. Despite the simplicity of the process, the fact alone that you have to manually contact someone, and provide a reason for joining, (While "seems interesting" will probably suffice, people probably won't think so) will probably scare of that once-in-a-few-months lurker who decides to make an account.

Yeah, I see your point. You're right and probably is Mateusz, but if there was a condition like this back when I joined the forum, I'd probably choose not to do it.

This made me think of the sketch Mateusz made for the Covert Front Series.
