"Kuba" is short form of his real name. Funny thing, unlike most names in Poland, this short form is created of second half of name, not beginning. This name is "Jakub".

In Spain it's the same. Or at least I can't think of a male name that ends with a.

I know someone from Poland called "Jakub" and short for his real name is "Kuba" O_O
