Cans
You see through a window in the can, more of the runny liquid:

And you activate the speaker cube and it says:
"Later, a Tronvan and an Ackuan, Annoalex White Synt-Log and Welsk Naqs respectively, simplified the teleporter so it becomes a one-way version of the original teleporting devices. The new teleporters were used to transport materials and people, not only between regions, but also between separate planets. Unfortunately, most of the teleporters built are being destroyed by the governments of the respective planets, in an attempt to stay neutral during the Tronvan-Alpan wars."
"Annoalex" sounds familiar to you.

Ask Snarr and Traskarz the importance of the name "Annoalex." Also, ask Traskarz if that liquid means anything to him.

60: Snarr, what does Annoalex mean?
Snarr: I think it was a name of an inventor.
60: Traskarz, what does Annoalex mean?
Traskarz: He is one of the scientist working for the Tronvans, I guess. Although, a few months ago, he mysteriously disappeared. At least, that's what I've been told.
60: Hmm... Anyway, there's more of the liquid that we see on the floor in these cans. What does it mean to you?
Traskarz: Of course! It's lubricating oil. I guess there was a shelf of those cans that got blasted, leaving a puddle of the stuff on the floor.

Problems with that idea:
None of you have a lighter (unless you can find a way to control Traskarz/ Snarr's weapons).
If it was flammable, it would have burned up when the cans that were on the shelf were destroyed.
