You should try my philosophy in this- The half-life series is a masterpiece of which valve couldn't be prouder. Abandoning it like this wouldn't be like them. There will, most certainly, be a continuation. Eventually. When that happens, I will rejoice. Until then, I will have no anticipation, no expectations, or anything that makes the in-between time qualify as a "wait". It makes life a lot easier.
Of course Valve wouldn't abandon Half Life series like that after leaving such a burning hole of a cliffhanger. What I think will happen is that the whole series will ends in Half Life 3 and that we won't get Episode 3 since Valve may have scrapped the whole episodic format.
7 years and counting... much longer than the wait between Half Life 1 and 2, if I have to say...
Disregarding the fact that you just switched sides, where the hell did you get that from? The entire point of the series is the immersion- you don't play as Freeman, you are Freeman. The kind of twist you're suggesting would break that entirely. You might as well make hl3 an ascII rouglike.WorldisQuiet5256 wrote:Small Question: How do you know or not know if the Next game is going to be viewed through the eyes of Alyx Vance?- ak - wrote:There was a recent discussion that Half Life 3 is under production, although we already heard about this time and time again.Ancient Crystal wrote: Uh, what?
