he doesn't really say anything new about the game, but the IDEA for the sequel looks interesting.

so, shall we pass to Sub2?

In mid October, Mateusz releases extended version of original Submachine.

excerpt from Mateusz Skutnik's Archived News of the year 2005 (October)
November 15th 2005:
I’ve created an extended version of the submachine, especially for the frontsteps.com, where I can watch the stats of the game. This version of the game is tougher and has more rooms, in the meantime I started creating submachine2 on a different engine hoping to finish that game in january or february 2006.

Description:
If you've played Submachine before and think you've seen it all... think again. In this extended version there are twice as many rooms to explore and twice the fun. Solve the new puzzle and see the altered ending.

If you're an submachine addict already, think of this as a warm up for the sequel to this game.

Mateusz Skutnik has created an extended version of his recent point-and-click game, Submachine, appropriately titled: Submachine Remix. Boasting twice as many rooms, a new puzzle and an alternate ending, the new version is something of a remix to tide you over until he finishes a true sequel, which he promises is on the way.

If you've never played a point-and-click or room escape game before, then the Submachine games are a very good place to start. They are simple and straightforward, and don't require alot of precise clicking on obscure pixels to advance.

(If you haven't already done so, be sure to check out my review of the original Submachine game.)

Game description by Newgrounds (this description, as well as game itself, was posted there in early 2006)
Submachine Extended Version; point and click escape game; walk around rooms and try to find an exit out of this installation.
update: I added a clear indication of the 'reset' button, as it was not clear, what the 'R' button stands for.

I had no more questions about the extended version, except the obvious ones related to the new things, like the painting and the gem.

At the first release, the gem was intended as easter egg/secret, but then Mateusz added it to Sub2, which makes it canonical.

The picture of the lighthouse was clue that there was going to be a 2nd game. At first people thought they have to wander the "outside" area at the ending to find the lighthouse, however the game then had 2 endings. The fact that the lighthouse (Sketch) was entered through a door there maybe led people to think that the location of Sub1 was in fact the basement of the lighthouse. Maybe its that why was called the "Basement" at first.

So in the "failed" SubVerse of Sub1 v2 and Sub2 Sketch, Basement was Lighthouse's Basement. Mateusz obviously changed this, and made them separate locations.

That makes sense. It's one of the questions we could ask Mateusz to confirm.
