Most certainly they will, Mateusz probably wants to end up a phase in Subverse doing everything there's left to do, to start fresh next year. Probably that's also the reason of the frequent updates in this batch and listening to our suggestions :P

Who are these people? :)

Thinking over an interesting social psychology course (ugh...what a horrible term) the Juniors had today. Sticking smiley-faces at the end of a sentence seems to change it.
i.e:

You are the most wonderful person in the world.

You are the most wonderful person in the world. :)

The first seems almost sarcastic...or is that me?

yeah, for me the second one may look more sarcastic depending on the context, especially with :). the first one looks like the person means it seriously.

Yes, the first one looks better because these days people tend to overuse emoticons, making the second sentence sound casual.

One could justify either. :)

Ha, in that case, the sentence was a neutral statement, and the emoticon tells me exactly how you felt while writing that.
I think that was the point. :P

I sometimes find them essential, there's been many times that I made some statement and the tone got misinterpreted. I think that in general it's better to overuse them and look childish than underuse them and look like an asshole.

Depends though, I think we should only use them when we really need to, like when a sentence can be easily misinterpreted, as you said. Apart from that, we don't really need them.
Choice of words also help.

on a second thought I think you may be right. I'll try to tone down my use of smilies from now on.
