why do I can watch long-long full-english video and understand 99% of all, and at the same time can't write good text in English?

as result: I got problem with my fanfiction.
too little fanbase in Russia and dozens hours to translate my work to English...

Happens to me that I understand english, but I can't traduct it, becuase these require different parts of the brain to work.

They're certain words I only know in english and I don't know in spanish for example.
