@Kakama: I read somewhere that the visual hallucinations can actually be quite disturbing (like something straight out of THE DEEPEST SLEEP), so any wishes I've had to have sleep paralysis have gone out the window
also, by decree, anytime someone mentions a title from the DEEP SLEEP series, the title must be in all caps.

Normally when I get sleep paralysis I don't get any weird hallucinations or anything. It's just I'm lying down somewhere and I'm paralyzed and that's it. Except it feels like I'm somewhere else, like I'm not on my bed but I'm in another dimension or I'm weightless and floating in space. Very cool.
