Yeah, 1 day.
But New Horizons cannot takes AND sends the photos at the same time. It will takes shitload of photos and datas as it flies by and then afterward, send those datas back to Earth in matter of hours. It will be a while before we see Pluto and its satellites in their glorious high resolution details.

Those dark patches make me think of giant frozen oceans, much like what we see on Titan (Saturn's moon)
A picture of Titan and its dark patches... Though Titan's oceans are liquid methane. But still, you can see similarity in the comparisons.

Pluto was meant to had the posibility of Neon Oceans and Nitrogen Snow.
