I had an idea. Users with less than a day or a week of existence cannot make posts or replies containing links.
Also, this whole spam thing made me think of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_eYSuPKP3Y

Just smile and wave boys. Smile and wave...

I was rather thinking about something like only posting in English or something. Loads of these bots use Russian.

anyway, we should wait for admins

That's a good idea. Judging by the IPs of the spambots, it's a botnet based in Moscow, so that way we could ban all new users with IP from Moscow and suspicious icq/jabber/whatever links in their profiles, before they even post anything disruptive.gil2455526 wrote:I had an idea. what? is there any harm on that? I think nobody would use these links nowadays but spammers, those messenger programs are very old, and that way we would prevent banning legitimate new users from Russia (if there will be any).
If I understood Gil correctly, new users will still be able to post a link like http://www.google.com for example, it would just not appear blue.

lol
I mean it makes no sense.
Spambots are international.
They're registering on site, spamming users list, even if you block posts with links.
You don't know who's spambot - there're users who registers on site and doesn't post anything (poor squirrel... T_T)
We need or fix antispam system, or make alternative - registration by emails, or something.
