The Submachine Discord Minecraft Project

Say, does anyone remember those Submachine minecraft maps I made eight years ago? No? Excellent, because they weren't very good - at least not compared to what's possible these days, with an additional near-decade of features in the game.

These ones, however, are. Our erstwhile counterparts in the Submachine Discord Server (a fan server, not to be confused with Mateusz' offical server) have been working on this for a while now - I'm not sure how long exactly, given they worked on it since before they had a central channel for it.

The ambition is great - to recreate all Submachine games in a single contiguous world, with most puzzles recreated to an astonishing degree of similarity, thanks in large part to the manipulations allowed by command blocks, who at this point border on being a programming language of their own. So far, thanks to a number of interested people working on it, everything is coming along nicely, with games 1, 2 and 4 being fully or partially built and a significant fraction of puzzles implemented. Enclosed are some screenshots of finished or near-finished areas.

For those curious to contribute something, details are in the Discord Server. Myself, I hope to at least make another puzzle or two (beyond the one I've made, so far my only addition to the project), if not, I certainly wish them luck with the rest of it.

Looks pretty cool; I'd definitely check it out if I had Minecraft. It'll be interesting to see how this develops as people run into challenges trying to represent different game elements and environments according to the Minecraft world rules, and what people do to solve the problems.
