I thought once that Sub10 would just be like the "epilogue" in the sense...but naw, there must be some sort of obstacle to the path of light in our way in Sub10.

Wait....

Between Sub9 and Sub10 we find light. We hear a voice guiding up into the light.
Between Sub1 and Sub2 it is only darkness. No voice, but footsteps leading us into darkness (sorry for the small diversion there).

Equal but opposite.

Mur vs. Liz
Light vs. Dark
Shiva's left vs. Shiva's right

!!!!!!!!!

Also, what did Vortex say?

"Lately I've been feeling like in the games there is someone or something that is always watching us. I got that impression at the end of Sub9, with the "welcome" message, and at the end of Sub1 HD, with the creepy steps. In Sub10 we might end up where that... thing... is."

Sub1, we had no understanding, we just wanted to escape.
Sub10, we will have most, if not all understanding. But will we want to escape?

A door, which we can choose to walk through? Or to stay behind? Do we really want to go back?

...
(loading more philosophical statements, please wait...)
...
...
...

What if the thing that has been watching us has been ourselves? have we become so detached, trying to solve the mystery, that we cannot recognize who we really are? Can we not see ourselves watching ourselves?

After all, only we watch what we do. When you change screens, you see faint circles-the lighting adjusts not to the person in-game, but to the player outside the game.

...
What does it mean?

...
Wait, who am I?

There's definitely material for a good theory there :D

Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes

That's what I thought when writing my "Submachine is what it is" theory, too- Submachine was never a "game" in the sense of an interactive narrative experience where you just navigate someone through the plot, but something that breaks the fourth wall by being a constant observation and interpretation of the player himself

You should definitely make a theory out of your thoughts :D

And then, what about the factor of time? Is it really a big leap of interpretation that the Player can be watching his past self?

And I do want to make a theory out of my thoughts, but it's hard for me to draw the ideas coherently together. Same with my redux theory that I'm wordsmith-ing, there are too many factors of time and layers that I'm trying to sort out.
