I lost interest with the series after they decided to drag it on for too long.

Truth be told,
Ash has been trying to become a Pokemon Master for what? 15 years?
And in each series that he collected how many badges?
Only for them to simple vanish in the next series.

You can go to college for 15 years to get an advances degree for a topic you love.
What does he do when he becomes a Pokemon master.
Has he consider what he would do in that career?
Because...I don't recall seeing them doing anything more than just waiting for someone to come alone, fight them, then just give them a badge if they win.

The only thing to come from it beside the title is to just make more Pokemon Masters.

What Knowlegde?
The only thing you get from this is just knowing how to make your Pokemon hurt another Pokemon the most effective.

Yet animal Cruelty is somehow OK with the people of that world.

I think it would be better to have a bit of background story, then just pure exploration, unless we'll be exploring really interesting places.
