I do agree that Subs 7 and 9 seemed much more "spiritual" or "surreal" or whatever you want to call it. I totally get what you're saying. Especially when you look back to the earlier Subs, you get a more mechanical, down-to-earth type of gameplay that kinda stopped after Sub6.

They don't make Submachine feel like Submachine at all
Also the "puzzles" of Sub 9 is extremely easy
I thought the entire Sub_7 experience was a perfect deconstruction of Submachine's familiar concepts and yet, the whole thing is still very true to what Submachine is and should be.
