Can you guys reccomend me some very simple propram for constructing 3D maps.

I would use some program like Google Sketchup since it's free and very very easy to learn, and it has built-in compatibility for creating maps (you can even import/export to Google Earth for example). If you have more experience I recommend blender which is also free.
