Well, is it that good?

At first it sounded to me like "generic catastrophe drama movie where man gets f'ed over all movie long and dies in the end", but the more I've been hearing about it once it came out, the better and more interesting this seems to be.

Or that might've been because I know that there are way too many movies like that generic style I've described, so who knows, maybe I'm just judging the book by its cover (and a cover that doesn't seem to quite fit the story )
